Question for Christians, Why does the Pope not trust in God?

The Pope trusts in God and also recognizes the potential for evil that may result from the free will choices of homicidal maniacs. No, someone being killed by a bullet is never God's will. That's just the point. Such a sin would be the imposition of a man's will over God's will, which is exactly what free will makes possible. If someone breaks into your home and kills your family, that isn't God's will either. And if you left the doors unlocked, then you contributed to that deviation from God's will.
