Why are a lot of people these days against Christians?

It isn't Christianity as a whole that is a problem, just the extremists. Like extremists of any other religion, they say and do horrible things. Not to mention that Christianity caused the Dark Ages, the Crusades and a whole lot of hatred ever since its founding (I don't blame the religion, just those who killed others because "Jesus/God" told them to).
